  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • ¼ cup spiced vinegar
  • 1 cup soy souce
  • 8 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 pcs eggs, beaten
  • 1 sachet 8g MAGGI® MAGIC SARAP®
  • 2 pcs bay leaves
  • 1 kg beef ribs, cut into pieces, blanched
  • 2 pcs star anise
  • 1 head garlic, crushed
  • 1 pc onion, quartered
  • 1 stalk scallion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp black peppercorn
Step 1
Simmer beef in a small pot with water until slightly tender. Add MAGGI® MAGIC SARAP®, MAGGI Soy , onion, garlic, black peppercorn, bay leaves, star anise and brown sugar. Simmer until very tender. Set aside to cool completely. Cooking liquid may be served as broth.
Step 2
Strain beef. Coat each rib with beaten egg and cornstarch. Deep fry in preheated oil until golden brown. Drain excess oil.
Step 3
Transfer on a serving plate and top with scallions and sesame seeds. Serve with spiced vinegar.
